National Archives and Records Administration ARC Identifier 2569748 / Local Identifier 111-TV-510 Big Picture: Special Digest DVD Copied by Liz Pruszko - Department of Defense. Department of the Army. Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations. U.S. Army Audiovisual Center. (ca. 1974 - 05/15/1984). This THE BIG PICTURE "Special Digest" will be of interest both to World War II veterans and to those young men who have yet to fulfill their military obligation. "I Know Where I Am Going," a fast-moving feature, explains the choice available to a young man to serve a six-month period of military duty with the Army and then return to civilian pursuits while remaining in the Active Reserve. The potential employer's viewpoint is brought home in a comparison of the jobs offered a man who has finished his obligatory military training and the temporary work available to a young man waiting to be drafted. CANTIGNY - the second story - shows the new museum of the Army's famous First Division. The ultra-modern museum near Wheaton, Illinois, is brilliantly portrayed as a masterpiece of modern museum design. Many electronic and mechanical graphic devices demonstrate the highlights of the proud history of the Big Red One.
