Fire at Malibu
1958 · National Archives and Records Administration (via FedFlix)
Finding Not asserted
Not asserted: the record does not name the creating body; its local identifier places it in NARA record group 95 (Forest Service), a federal agency's records, which is evidence of federal origin but not proof of authorship, since agencies also filed acquired and captured footage.
The record does not name a federal creating body, or names one alongside a private producer, a state body or a government corporation. Such a film may well be a government work, but this registry only says so when the record does.

National Archives and Records Administration - ARC Identifier 13369 / Local Identifier 95.73 - Fire at Malibu - Department of Agriculture. Forest Service. Division of State and Private Forestry. Fire and Aviation Management Staff. (1986). Chronicles the Los Angeles (California) County Fire Department's fight against a fire in the Newton Canyon area of the Malibu Mountains on December 26, 1957. The fire covered 26,000 acres before containment and involved 2,000 men fighting it over three days and night. The effects of Santa Ana winds on a wildfire are dramatically illustrated. -
